We meet Thursday nights at the Jenks East Intermediate school starting on Feb 6th. Our time consists of 20-30 minutes of instruction. We do have the instruction broken up by skill level and no prior chess experience is needed to join. Our beginner instruction consists of learning how pieces move, learning how to checkmate (and avoid it), how to start your games. Our Intermediate instruction consists of a lot of tactics instruction as well as how to think during the game. The Advanced instructions covers advanced tactics, openings, & end game instruction. Cost is $75 per student for the semester. We will meet 12 times. The last 2 weeks we will host a club chess tournament to find out who the best of each section is. Trophies and medals can be earned for that club tournament.
